Nike Air Max 180 iD
In this post we’ll guide you through the process of designing your own Nike Air Max 180 iD.
The Nike Air Max 180 iD is confirmed to be releassing in Nike Store on the 13th of March in Japan.
On the tongue of the first 3 designs we see here you find designs of Marcello Morandini, Ralph Steadman and Alphonse Holtgreve.
How to design the Nike Air Max 180 iD?
There’s is no right or wrong way to design the new Nike Air Max 180 iD. We all have individual taste and that is excatly the beauty and strenght of designing shoes using Nike iD. Nike iD gives you the opportunity to create a unique shoe using the materials and colors you love. In the the end of the design process you can even add a signature text to the shoes.
As soon as Nike releases the Nike Air Max 180 iD we’ll give you a detailed guide with all the options available as well as our own personal favourite designs.
Step 1 – The Base
When designing the ‘Base’ element you can choose from 16 different colors/combinations.
The colors ‘Black’, ‘Cool Grey’,’ White’, ‘Cargo Khaki’, ‘Game Royal’, ‘Court Purple’ and ‘University Red’ are available as solid colors. Apart from that you can use options where two of the mentioned colors are used together. On the two-colored Base ‘Volt’ is optional as well.
Step 2 – Heel Accent
The Heel Accent is a supportive and creative element which is fun to play with when designing your Nike Mecton 4 iD training shoes.
The colors ‘Black’, ‘Cool Grey’,’ White’, ‘Volt’, ‘Game Royal’, ‘Court Purple’ and ‘University Red’ are available for this element.
Step 3 – The Swoosh/Flywire
The Nike Swoosh might be the most important element of a Nike shoe.
You can decide to make a really low-key design by giving the Swoosh a color similar to the Base. By using a contrast color you can really make the design pop out and make eye catching designs.
The color you decide to use on the swoosh will be use on the Flywire ‘eyelets’ as well.
Choose from 14 colors including ‘Hyper Magenta’, ‘Metallic Gold’, ‘Volt Glow’ and ‘Metallic Silver’.
Step 4 – Laces
Don’t under estimate the importance of the shoe laces.
Choose from 12 different laces that are all two colored.
Step 5 – The Outsole
Like on the Base element you can choose between a solid or a gradient color for the outsole.
In total there are 13 different outsoles to choose from.
It’s woth noticing that if you choose the ‘Clear’ transparent outsole you’ll be able to add a special Outsole graphic as well (next step).
Step 6 – Outsole Graphic
As mentioned above you’ll have an extra option to customize your Nike Metcon 4 iD shoes if you choose the ‘Clear’ outsole.
That gives you 6 different graphics to put on the Outsole. Graphics with encouraging slogans like “Enjoy The Pain”, “Destroy To Build” and “Leave Nothing”.
Step 7 – Text/Logo
As always the last step in the process of designing a pair if Nike iD shoes you get the chance to make the shoes unique.
On the heel tap you have the option the keep the normal ‘Metcon’ logo og change that to a text of your own choice.
You can write up to 5 letters on each shoe – in the example shown here we decided to write ‘NEXT’ on the left shoe and ‘LEVEL’ on the right.
Step 8 – Shop The Shoes!
If you feel inspired it might be about time to go and design your very own unique Nike Air Max 180 iD shoe.
Remember it’s only possible in Nike Store – and with the options shown above only for a limited time.
